At Science Table Communications our mission is to empower organizations at the intersection of science and society to communicate with clarity, credibility, and confidence. We specialize in helping science-driven organizations translate complex ideas into clear, compelling communications that build trust, foster engagement, and drive real-world impact. We partner with mission-driven organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, and companies across the health, food, sustainability, and science sectors to design and deliver communications that are credible, clear, and actionable.

About Our Founder

Dr. Marianna Naum helps science-driven organizations translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messages that build trust and drive impact. She brings more than 15 years of leadership experience at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where she directed strategic communications, crisis and risk messaging, consumer education, and stakeholder engagement for the Human Foods Program. At the FDA, Dr. Naum oversaw communications on some of the most visible and consequential public health issues of the past two decades - including Bisphenol A (BPA), the removal of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) from the food supply, color additive safety, GMOs, food innovation, the reduction of toxic elements in foods consumed by babies and young children, cosmetic ingredient safety (asbestos, formaldehyde), and Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). She also led public health alerts, dietary supplement warning letter initiatives, and efforts to combat tainted or misbranded supplements. These experiences sharpened her ability to design strategies that balance scientific complexity with public urgency, ensuring clear and credible messaging in the moments that matter most. A scientist by training and communicator by expertise, Dr. Naum has advised senior government leaders, guided cross-functional teams, and designed strategies to advance food safety and nutrition goals. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland Global Campus, where she teaches environmental science and biology. At Science Table Communications, she continues her mission of empowering organizations at the intersection of science and society to communicate with clarity, credibility, and confidence.
